FREDERICK AREA SWIM TEAM (FAST)

SUNDAY, JUNE 10, 2001

TIME/LOCATION:8:00 A.M. AT THE WETHERBURNE & COBBLESTONE POOL IN THE WHITTIER DEVELOPMENT, FREDERICK, MD.
KIDS TRIATHLON:400M(16 lengths) swim, 2.6 mile bike, 1.3 mile run
ADULT CHALLENGE:400M(16 lengths) swim, 13.0 mile bike, 3.1(5K) mile run
RELAYS:Adult & Kids at distances indicated above

DIRECTIONS/ACCOMODATIONS: From I-70 or I-270. Take US 15 North. Get off at Rosemont Ave. Exit. Turn right off ramp. Go pass Ft. Detrick for approx. 5 miles. Turn left into the Whittier Development on Christophers Crossing Drive. Next right onto Whittier Drive in front of lake and right on Wetherburne Way. Pool on the right.

REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICKUP: Report to the Wetherburne Pool for race #s, heat & pool assignment and packets T-Shirts will be available to the first 100 participants. All athletes are encouraged to register prior to race day. There will be race day registration from 6:30 to 7:45 am. There is a 200 PERSON LIMIT for this event.

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $40 for adults and $20 for kids. Relay Team fee is $20 per person for adults and $10 per person for kids. An additional fee is required for non-USAT adults($7.00) and kids($2.75) Please fill out the enclosed entry form, sign the waiver on the reverse side and return to
Bob Bofinger, Race Director @ P.O. Box 517, Libertytown, MD 21762-0517. Non-USAT Athletes can join USA Triathlon by making a copy of the Waiver/Application form and mailing the form directly to USA Triathlon. The net profits will benefit the F.A.S.T. youth swim team program. We would appreciate any donations toward the swim club. All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support

AMENITIES: Race drink, water stations, pizza & other food will be included for athletes. Other beverages and food will be available for purchase during the race and awards.
AWARDS:Categories:Kids-8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15
Adults - 16-19,20-24, 25-29 30-34, 35-39, 40-45, 46-49, 50-59, & 60+

Awards will be given to kids and adults for 1st, 2nd & 3rd for the different age groups (girls & boys, women & men). Overall winner/awards will be given to kids and adults (not included in age group awards)

OTHER INFO: No Drafting is allowed. Helmets are mandatory. If rain, the race will proceed as a Biathlon. Race Director reserves the right to cancel or change the event if weather conditions warrant.
